HOW TO REACH HVAR

Getting to Hvar from Split
If you are flying into Split, you will be arriving in Split airport, situated between Split and Trogir. It takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes to get to Split's ferry port from the airport. You can take the official Croatia Airlines bus, or one of the many private mini buses or taxis, or even contact us to arrange a transfer for you or your group. You can also rent a car in the airport.
We can also take you and your group directly from the airport to Hvar town main harbour, or to the closest pier to your hotel in Hvar town with our taxi boat services.
From Split you can take a catamaran that will bring you straight to Hvar town, or the ferry boat that will bring you to Hvar, arriving at Stari Grad town. Driving from Stari Grad to Hvar takes 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the traffic (longer during the busy summer season).
Both the catamarans and ferries leave Split port several times a day, but the schedule changes depending on the season. Jadrolinija is the main Croatian ferry service, and on there website - www.jadrolinia.hr - you can find details regarding routes and times.
The fast catamaran that goes directly from Split to Hvar takes 1 hour, while the car ferry takes a little under 2 hours. Tickets can be bought at ticket kiosks, by the market (where the Croatia Airport bus stops) as well as along the street that leads down to the Ferry Terminal - and also in the Ferry Terminal itself. Just look for the blue Jadrolinija signs.
In high season (from 1st July to 1st August) make sure that you get your tickets as early as you can on your departure day, as they sell out quickly. If that does happen, and there is no other catamaran that day, get a ferry ticket to Stari Grad, where you can take a bus to Hvar town (or call us to arrange a transfer for you).
Price of ticket varies depending on season, from 22kn to 47kn

If you want to take a car to Hvar island you will need to take the ferry. Once you purchase a ticket for you and your car (at the same locations as listed above), ask the cashier from which pier the ferry will leave, and make sure you leave your car in line for the ferry at least 1 to 2 hours before departure time, especially in high summer season. Even though the ferry takes 2 hours, it's a nice big comfortable boat, with big open decks where you can bring your own food and drink, relax and enjoy the views of Split, the mountains along the coast towards Makarska, and the beautiful islands you will be passing by on the way.
