2 Day sailing tour Hvar-Komiza(Vis)-Bisevo(Blue cave)-Hvar

DAY 1 HVAR – KOMIZA

We start our sailing trip from Hvar town at 10am. Our first direction is towards the island of Vis. We will stop for swmming in one of the beautiful bays on the Pakleni islands or around Vis island itself. We arrive during late afternoon in Komiza and spend the night there.

Komiza is one of the most picturesque towns in Dalmatia and a harbour on the western coast of the island of Vis in the Adriatic Sea; population 1,677. It is famous for it’s fishermen (fishermen from Komiza are also known in San Pedro, California), so that fish and other seafood are traditionally served fresh daily.

NAUTICAL MILES TRAVELED: Hvar – Komiza : 20 NM

DAY 2 KOMIZA (Vis) – BISEVO – HVAR

From Komiza we will sail to the island of Bisevo. It’s area is 5.8 km, and it has 19 inhabitants. The island has several caves, the most famous being the “Blue Cave”, which is accessible since 1884, and accessible only by boat. It is 18 meters long, 6 meters deep and 6 meters high. The cave’s entrance is only 1.5 meters high and 2.5 meters wide. Around 10 to 1 o’clock sunbeams that penetrate through the submarine opening in the Blue Cave, reflect from the white bottom floor and colour the cave in blue and objects in the water in silver. The sight is magical.

After visiting the cave we will sail to one of the bays for swimming. If the weather suits us, we might even visit the Green Cave, that has a similiar effect as the Blue Cave except in green! Then around noon at the latest we continue our sailing tour back towards Hvar, where we will arrive around 6pm.
